TOWN ISSUES

North East corner

parcel c zoning

Friends of Carefree, there is an important Zoning meeting tomorrow, 10/12/26 at 4PM in the Hampton Inn.  The topic of the meeting is a potential zoning change for the third parcel (Parcel C) of the years-long overdue development of that NE corner.  That parcel has been a thorn in the town’s side since the NIMBYs put a strangle hold on the type of commercial development that would be allowed on that parcel.

In my opinion, Parcel C should be zoned in the same manner as Parcels A & B, in order to enable Sales Tax generating revenue to finally flow into the town financial accounts.  The entire 23-acre area should be zoned the same to finally promote REAL economic development.  As many of you as possible should attend.  Show them you care.

 See the town’s notice below.

Neighborhood Meeting for Parcel C of Planned Development

Monday, October 12 at 4 p.m.

 Attention Neighbors,

The Town has received an application from SimonCRE proposing an amendment to the existing zoning approvals for Parcel C, a 4.18-acre

property located along Cave Creek Road, north of the planned Craig’s Crossing development.

The request would allow retail, restaurant, and service station uses on the property while maintaining the existing Commercial (C) zoning and residential compatibility requirements established under the prior approval.

As part of the Town’s citizen participation process, the applicant is holding a neighborhood meeting on Monday, October 12 at 4 p.m. at the Carefree Hampton Inn (2 Easy Street). This meeting is open to the public and is solely intended for comments and discussion regarding the proposed rezoning of Parcel C.

While the parcel is located along the planned Craig's Crossing development, information and updates regarding the broader project WILL NOT be discussed at this meeting. This neighborhood meeting is specifically focused on the proposed rezoning of the 4.18-acre Parcel C.

Updates regarding the entire Craig's Crossing development project will be presented at a future Town Council meeting, which will be recorded and livestreamed for the public.
